Facebook??? Twitter???

Tue May 26, 2009, 6:42 AM
Do you have any of them?
Are they worth getting into? Do you really use them? Should I even bother with another bunch web pages to maintain (like I don't have enough already)? I'm on the fence with these two - do you guys have them and is it worth the time? Have they even helped you any?
Help me out here...Yay or nay?

i use facebook, but not twitter. it allows me to stay in touch with people i use to know and a lot of friends that i would not be able to keep up with otherwise. i do not use twitter. but FB is a lot better than myspace which has the whore central feel. myspace = internet red light district.

I use twitter ( http://www.twitter.com/jeffwamester ) and facebook and they have both brought some business ( also note... you can set it up so when you update twitter is will update your facebook page automatically... so you don't have to work so hard at it. Oh and twitter lets you updates from a cell phone text ;) )

I see. So you use it all for personal stuff? I have a few businesses tho - what if I'd rather promote that?
Thanks for the info man.

LOL. I won't even bother with MySpace - looks like Spam central. I also see a lot of people with movie star friends in their FB links - come on....do they really know them or just watch their page? So you use FB a lot then? More than Devart?
Thanks for the info.

What the heck is friendster? Another Facebook? eck...too many choices here.

Stay out of the Red Light District man, LOL - a nice girlfriend should keep you safe and honest. I don't want to see you running from the cops out the hooch house on the late night news, LOL.

I use Twitter and Facebook, facebook doesn't help too much with anything so far, but Twitter is amazing. I've gotten sooo many new fans from it. You should DEFINITELY join twitter. On fridays people do something called #followfriday and you tell other people who you think they should follow, it's great publicity. :) I've met people on there that I would NEVER have had a chance to meet otherwise. (CEO's to toy companies etc...)

Be mindful of the Gypsy. They are quite stealy.

i keep both windows up when i am working along with a couple other networks. but DA is my home i have been here for 5 years, not going anywhere. I like FB it gives me a whole new realm of promoting myself without being a spammer, because people know me.
you can be a fan of someone, but i am sure most of the FB celebrity pages are the same as myspace.
i have a myspace, but it only holds my artwork and people who request me, just shameless self promotion. but i spend no time there.
FB has like contacts of people I use to work with from way back that are great network connect. Like people i have lost contact with when i use to work at Malibu and Marvel comics, i now have contact with them again. FB is what got me back in contact with my friend Ginah who got me my job with Sinner Magazine. So that there is reason enough for me to stay. might find people who you wish you still had contact with. there are good chat features and allows quick contact with people who i would otherwise have to wait for an email response from. and only people you friend can look at your page. it is pretty private. has options for public or private. but private is the best. never know. right now my idea is the more ways i can promote myself the better. and some that are worth less time act as robots. they just sit there with my art on them. good luck buddy.

I use Facebook, but I mostly use Twitter now ([link]). I use an application called "Tweetdeck" to manage it, which I highly recommend. I keep track of mostly comic-related stuff on it, artists, writers and the like..plus it's a great way to show off work with their "Tweetpic" feature. Met lots of new fans, and found lots of great websites. I usually have it running on the PC and check it every now and then while I'm doing art.
