Flashbacks...

Wed Dec 30, 2009, 7:41 AM
Going through my old storage space as I packed it up and shut it down I found a ton of old drawings from way back that I'd like to post up here. Most of these pieces are from the 90's and the paper is starting to yellow out and fall apart, some are in good shape to scan and post. So yeah, I'm going back in time here to when I used to draw a hell of a lot more than I ever did. Some of it will be good, some bad, some will be "what was he thinking?", LOL. I thought it would be a fun way for me to end the year and get ready for next year.

So yeah, I'm doing a old school art 2D flashback. (If you laugh at any of it I'll send you a virtual punch in the nose, LOL, just kidding). Flashback one going up now....

I'll be there this Friday - anybody going to this?

It is with great pride and excitement that we officially invite you to our newest exhibit, Marvelous Color opening on December 18, 2009 starting at 6pm. This new show celebrates six of Marvel Comics' popular and iconographic super hero characters: Black Panther, Storm, Luke Cage, The Falcon, Blade and James Rhodes (Iron Man/War Machine). We invite you to join us at the gallery of the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) at 408 West 58th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. In the spirit of the ideals of heroism, the exhibit will also collect gifts for a toy drive beginning December 18 through December 20. The exhibit will run through February 26, 2010.

The call...

Wed Dec 9, 2009, 8:39 PM
Been thinking about having some sort of designer resin toy contest next year in which the winner would get a limited run figure produced by me thru my toy company Argonaut Resins...Of course there would be rules and all that type of stuff but it would be open to any artist anywhere with a good idea, concept, etc...Hmmmm...Sound like a good idea?

You would have to have a cool ass design...
You would have to be able to paint All of your castings yourself...
You would have to be able to hand make all your packaging for your piece...

Sometime next year I will post the start of this contest with all of the full information on how to enter. If you're curious about what kind of stuff I make - go thru my site here:

and see what it's all about and if you have a concept that will fit in with I've been doing with the recent Argo Crew (you may want to click those links on the right hand side on the blog and see what those talented guys I've worked with so far have done).

If you have any questions you can ask them here in this thread (or note me) but don't send me anything yet (I'm still busy finishing off a few projects at the moment).

Does this sound like a little something something you'd like to take a shot at? Ever wanted to make your own designer toy??? What say you -

Back to real vampires...

Fri Nov 27, 2009, 12:56 PM
Check out - "Feast Of Blood" (illustrated and adapted by good friend and Devarter - Dave Flora) based off of the Varney the Vampire serial published in 1845 by James Rymer.

That first panel is just a awesome taste of what Dave has in store for us vampire fans. Check it -
